Training by Age Group

For Children 3 to 10 years old

Ryu-Kai's unique Kickboxing style helps children to develop essential life skills such as self-discipline, self-control, respect, humility, honour and integrity.

Our teaching improves children's concentration, by drawing their full attention to the class and limiting other distractions. This sharpens their ability to focus and enhances concentration levels in other key areas of life, including at school. Similarly, classes are full of fun and actively enjoyed by children, meaning that they are keen to regularly attend and participate!

For Teenagers 11 to 15 years old

At Ryu-Kai, teenagers learn effective self-defense rooted in traditional Japanese discipline, boosting their confidence and determination.

Our classes emphasize not just physical skills but also life values like respect, humility, honor, integrity, and compassion. This holistic approach helps students build the mental strength to resist negative influences and maintain a positive mindset, equipping them with the courage and discipline to stay on the right path throughout their lives.

  • What should I bring to my first trial class?
    Please arrive at the dojo 10 minutes before your class starts. Your instructor will welcome you, give you a brief tour, and help you feel comfortable before class begins. For your first trial class, please bring: Loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely for kicks, punches (we’ll provide gloves and boots for your first session) A bottle of water to stay hydrated Book Trial
